Chapter 38
[Author: OO]
[Title: Let’s Analyze the Host’s Origin and Nationality]
If they were high enough to carry the Imperial Seal in China, they must have been a general, at least.
They fought among the thousands of Chinese warriors.
So maybe they were part of Cao Cao’s army.
If they took the seal and left, then it’s right that Cao Cao had no right to be king.
Then comes the Battle of Dan-no-ura.
Records of the missing Imperial Seal date back to around the 900s.
Since Dan-no-ura was in 1185, it makes sense that the host could have come as far as Japan.
Maybe they even lived at Inari Shrine?
Perhaps they saved Emperor Antoku when he, at only six years old, threw himself into the sea out of pity.
I heard two of the Three Sacred Treasures are fakes, except for the comma-shaped jewel. If the host has the sword, they probably have the mirror too.
(Today’s news about Wakamo’s donation as a VTuber.)
And the authentic Taegeukgi used during the March 1st Movement. They say the Tower created it as an item.
At this point, it seems like the Tower has turned everything the host possesses into artifact-grade items?
Well, it is true that these are historical artifacts if you think about it.
Our host’s life was insanely spectacular, wasn’t it?
Wherever they went, it was war, war, and war.
They probably didn’t get to see the atomic bomb dropped on Japan.
Now that the times are peaceful, they’re doing VTuber broadcasts.
Isn’t it amazing they didn’t get tired of humans?
– They sure look like they’d be good at sports with those muscles.
ㄴYou mean for independence?
ㄴThey were said to be running at the forefront during the March 1st Movement…
– LOL they’re literally an independence fighter!!!!
– This goes beyond patriotism; isn’t this basically Captain Korea?
– A Korean fox who’s lived a thousand years… This’ll probably be in comics soon.
– Neither Chinese generals, Japanese warriors, nor Korean wars could kill them…
ㄴFor the host, it must’ve been like, “Just another start,” right? LOL
– So why are they a VTuber? I’m genuinely asking because I don’t know. They’re really a VTuber?
ㄴThey use a screen, so yeah, they’re a VTuber.
ㄴIf they have a studio and do VTuber broadcasts, then they’re a VTuber, ㅇㅇ
ㄴThere are Red Pill VTubers who reveal everything, so what’s the issue?
ㄴAre you trying to smear an independence fighter? Are you perhaps…
ㄴNo, damn it, that’s not it!!!
– The host’s shield is crazy strong. Chinese origin, Japanese origin, whatever, they’re an “independence fighter.”
– The utterly proud Korean fox, damn it LOL
– They said they’re a recluse!!! This is a lie from a social butterfly!!!
– Even a social butterfly wouldn’t go out like this, damn it LOL
– ? Hey, guys. A PV just went up on Ichigo’s broadcast.
ㄴ**? What’s it about.**
ㄴI just saw it, and seriously, what even is this LOL
Even as the 40th-floor Gimpo Tower collapsed, the Korean community continued on as usual.
The army was already out, and the situation was nearly under control. Posts from waiting reservists and climbers grumbling about the wait were all over the community.
They were on standby for three days, waiting for it all to end, uncertain about when something else might break out.
Among Korean climbers, there wasn’t a single person who didn’t know Wakamo Inarizushi.
A mysterious PV had been uploaded to the broadcast of Hajime Ichigo , the one Wakamo cherishes and mentors like a daughter.
Watching the video labeled “Major Announcement!” on a pitch-black screen, some VTuber fans shuddered with PTSD-level dread, but those who clicked on it soon found themselves curious, confused, and even thrilled beyond belief.
The video started with a weighty, somber brass instrument, and as a stringed instrument joined in, the screen revealed a faded, colorless scene.
“[The smallest country in Asia. This land, a serene land of dawn, has fought against countless invasions over long years.]”
A familiar voiceover from a well-known narrator begins.
Starting from the Three Kingdoms era, moving through the Joseon dynasty and onto the Korean War.
Always the invaded side, enduring the sorrow of seeing their land turn into a battlefield, the unyielding generals and soldiers are depicted fighting bravely.
And then, a familiar VTuber, one we’ve seen too many times, raises the Taegeukgi high, leading the people. The Believers either burst out laughing or reacted with, “What is this?”
The scene shifts to Wakamo passionately waving the Taegeukgi as it’s donated to a museum for preservation, with the Tower looming in the background.
“[And this has not changed, even to this day.]”
The camera shows dozens of drones flying through the sky, revealing a devastated Seoul completely leveled by consecutive tower collapses.
Monsters are everywhere, and at the core of the fallen tower, the bosses have emerged, nesting like it’s their territory.
“[She may be young, but she’s an apocalypse survival expert. There’s no doubt about her skills.]”
Then the narration switches to the voice of Manager Won Da-hye , familiar to the Believers , though new to some.
The soldiers’ uniforms change from those of the Korean War to modern-day combat gear. With the click of a buckle and the sound of firearms, four soldiers, fully armed with military daggers in their sheaths and large axes on their backs, move forward cautiously, their guns at the ready.
At their center, Wakamo Inarizushi strides forward, gripping a massive shield and hammer.
But it doesn’t seem like she’s the leader.
In the darkness, as faint breaths are heard, a gasmask slowly emerges, and a pair of red eyes open.
Hajime Ichigo steps forward, holding guns in both hands.
“[Fox Team, do you hear me? Operation ‘Seoul Reclamation’ is now underway. Best of luck.]”
As Manager Won Da-hye’s voice fades out over the radio, the screen darkens.
And at the center appears the title “Battlefield: Seoul Reclamation.”
The brief preview ends with the announcement that the apocalyptic survival expert Hajime Ichigo will continue this on her membership broadcast!!
Even someone unfamiliar with VTubers could mistake it for a movie trailer because of the quality, yet fans of Ichigo were equally stunned that this was membership content.
She had casually mentioned there might be a membership broadcast soon, so everyone subscribed without much thought… but was this scale for real?
Once again, the community burst into flames.

[Title: Surviving is Proof of Strength]
Someone who survived the Joseon era’s firearms won’t be defeated by modern Korea’s corruption.
A figure who survived encounters with wandering scholars and Japanese matchlocks.
I don’t know if Hajime Ichigo is descended from Cao Cao or Liu Bei .
Watching the Red Team and Blue Team united to reclaim Seoul was so grand.
Wow, the realism of the quality truly moved me!
Metaverse advancements these days are absolutely stunning!
How many 3D CG teams did they hire? Our host must really be rich.
They might even have Russian gold bars.
Maybe treasures from the Chinese Imperial family.
– Include the generals who survived Cao Cao’s slaughter.
– I guess we have to make a temporary alliance just this once.
– This combination could actually be pretty dangerous.
– Ichigo said, “It’s similar to VirtualGRA.”
ㄴThe part with the VTuber character is exactly the same.
ㄴIt’s a video that maintains the character’s concept, so I respect that.
– Finally, South Korea has become a VTuber powerhouse.
– Wow, the realism is just amazing!
ㄴIf the operation succeeds, it feels like Seoul really will be reclaimed.
ㄴLOL it’s like suspiciously skilled operatives reclaiming Seoul.
ㄴRise, Captain. South Korea is in crisis.
ㄴCaptain Korea and Hawk China… my heart is pounding.
ㄴAt least call it China Widow.
ㄴBut the heart…
ㄴAre you insane? LOL
“Yes! Filming complete!!”
In the studio, Wakamo participated in filming, frequently changing her outfit’s appearance using [Mana Manipulation], wondering if this was how it was supposed to be. Usually, they would attach machinery to the body for filming and then layer CG on top.
But the two of them were just standing there, changing outfits. At this rate, it would make it seem like her VTuber model and Red Pill VTuber) were exactly the same!!
Meanwhile, the filming crew, likely receiving a large budget, kept asking Wakamo to come back for the next project whenever they saw her.
Indeed, there’s nothing money can’t accomplish.
Manager Won Da-hye gave a thumbs-up, saying she had made so much money that she could call them whenever she wanted to film anything.
‘Why am I suddenly reminded of the dragon in VirtualLive?’
It’s normal for corporate VTubers to participate in content organized by their company. Accepting advertisements, detailed planning, shorts, original songs, or concerts — corporate VTubers receive far more support and have advantages compared to independent VTubers .
Production for Hajime Ichigo’s original song was still in the planning phase, so when exactly did they start preparing for this massive content?
“The corporate content I imagined was something like a summer swimsuit special…!!”
“Think of it as full 3D CG! Technology has come a long way these days!!”
Wakamo almost teared up seeing Manager Won Da-hye’s preparations, which included chroma key screens and a massive filming studio dedicated to CG.
But they probably wouldn’t use any of it.
The theme was a reclamation operation in a CG setting that looked just like a devastated Seoul, with agents who seemed to be armed with real weapons.
“Considering editing and all, it should take about 2–3 hours?”
During this, Manager Won Da-hye didn’t seem to entertain the possibility of a mission failure.
Of course, since Wakamo appeared as an invincible superhuman in the Tower, it was only natural!! But this was real life.
Finally, after some hesitation, Wakamo revealed her skill, [My Worlds], that she could use.
“Let’s just set it up like game-themed content!!!”
They had transportation for safely delivering supplies and even a personal shelter for safe rest!
“There are similar FPS games, so let’s set up the theme as if it’s following a storyline from one of those games. Agents, are you okay with that? Set up the code names as if it’s a real game.”
“Then I’m Gaejugi.”
“Hoshino Ruri, is that okay?”
“Unicorn.”
“Please call me Shikopi.”
Agents, equipped identically with cameras attached to their heads and bodies and wearing helmets to hide their identities. Manager Won Da-hye “notified” Wakamo that these individuals were personally recommended by the Chairman, so there was no need to worry about exposing Red Pill VTuber content.
Wow, they really look like game characters!!
“What’s with the name Unicorn?”
“Pia-chan will come back one day…!!”
“Oh, you’re a Novelpia VTuber fan…”
An uncle, huh… Wakamo didn’t press further. This place… it held sorrow.
Due to copyright issues, they decided to shorten one person’s name to Ruri. Meanwhile, one of them subtly asked Wakamo, “Do you know our Boss? They’re cute,” as a promotion, to which Wakamo responded by silently showing some merchandise.
Turns out, they were all either VTuber fans or people who had a certain history in the community.
Where did they find all these talents…?
“Alright, let’s get ready!”
Manager Won Da-hye said this while showing Wakamo the supplies they were originally going to transport differently.
I’m not really going to war, right…?
This was taking reservist PTSD to a whole new level, as if she was actually becoming an active-duty soldier.
This is why not everything is great about being a corporate VTuber!!
Still, since it wasn’t a black company that only exploited her, Wakamo quietly prepared her gear.
※※※
“Is this really okay…?”
“Is there a problem? Does it look like a coup? If that’s the case, I’d be a little disappointed. We’re just working diligently for our President.”
The army alone was sufficient to handle the response to the Gimpo Tower collapse. When a young Assemblyman expressed concern, the Chairman merely smiled and dismissed it as unnecessary worries.
“It’s finally time for you to shine. Although we’ll call you FOX Team, not Surveillance Team.”
Then, the Chairman looked at the four agents and Manager Won Da-hye gathered in the conference room.
“To think that the capital, Seoul, was seized by mere monsters. We wanted to mobilize the army to reclaim it, but we didn’t have the resources, and there was a lot of opposition. They didn’t want to risk provoking the monsters and causing more harm. Those people only cared about their own safety.”
The monsters spawned by the Tower’s collapse — ironically, they didn’t approach the Tower itself.
They had their own invisible boundary to maintain. But that didn’t mean they never came out, so the threat was not exaggerated.
No one knew why.
The reason for the Tower’s existence, its purpose — none of it had been uncovered.
Many rumors suggested that reaching the top of a 100-floor Tower would reveal the truth, but no climber had conquered a 100-floor Tower so far.
Seoul was transformed, its environment made unbearable by the collapsed Tower’s field effect, turning it into a level within the Tower.
The Tower’s emergence led to an attack on the other Seoul Towers after the collapsed Tower’s monsters spilled out, resulting in the current situation.
“This isn’t a show of force or a coup. How could a mere Chairman possibly threaten the President, the supreme authority, in a democratic country? We’re just moving to reclaim Seoul.”
The Gimpo Tower collapse conveniently allowed them to gather troops in Gochon and bombard the monsters in Seoul to draw their attention.
The plan was to divert the monsters’ attention in that direction.
“We’re targeting the boss that emerged from the collapsed Tower in Gwanak District through Geumcheon District .”
The objective of this operation was to drive out the monsters and reclaim part of Seoul by inducing Tower emergence and monster clearance.
If the monsters from the collapsed Tower were defeated, a new Tower would certainly reappear.
──This plan, to reclaim territory by these means, was developed based on experience gained by several countries. Simply killing the boss with bombardment would cause it to resurrect. Ironically, only a climber killing it would trigger the Tower’s reappearance.
The memory of the many climbers who gathered to reclaim Seoul but left in disappointment with the government’s incompetence still saddened the Chairman.
“Will citizens oppose this operation to reclaim Seoul ? They may say it’s dangerous, but it’s something that must be done eventually. Even the President cannot stand above the people. We’re manipulating the media to show the President supporting Wakamo as a VTuber in the process.”
“…..”
It would be best if Wakamo could openly fight as a climber to reclaim Seoul . But knowing she wanted to focus on being a VTuber), the Chairman was willing to accommodate. Politics was best left to those skilled in it, and she was already playing her part well.
“The President striving to reclaim Seoul — a great image to gain public support. But what if the President were later revealed to have tried to harm a national hero and independence fighter? Imagine revealing Wakamo as the climber who succeeded in the reclamation… wouldn’t it be interesting to see how the Assemblyman’s expressions change?”
An independence fighter oppressed by the President and a climber who succeeded in reclaiming Seoul?
Even if they supported the President and disliked the Chairman, the choice would be obvious.
‘What a twisted mind…’
The Manager knew the Chairman wasn’t someone to be underestimated, but she hadn’t expected him to use the Gimpo Tower’s collapse in this way. Now, she sighed, uncertain how to explain this to Wakamo.
‘Though, if I say it’s corporate-planned content, she might not refuse…’
They had somehow managed to persuade Wakamo , despite her evident reluctance, to go along with the content.
But Manager Won Da-hye never forgot that Wakamo wasn’t doing this out of her own desire; she was only doing it for Ichigo.
Though the plan had changed quite a bit, if the operation succeeded, the news would report it as the success of an “Unknown Climber”.
Even if everyone knew who it really was, they could brush it off as VTuber content, pretending it wasn’t reality!
How did the political conflict over Climber Wakamo between the President and the Chairman escalate to this level?
For Seoul’s reclamation, the operation had to succeed to set everything in motion smoothly.
‘The Chairman is practically putting his neck on the line for this gamble.’
The agents in the Surveillance Team weren’t Climbers, but they were trained soldiers.
Regardless of the necessity, it was ultimately the case that a private armed force was being deployed at will!
If they weren’t careful, the monsters in Seoul could spill over into Incheon …
‘I just hope Wakamo won’t be too upset…’
In effect, the Climber Association was forcing her into the battlefield.
All for the sake of national interest, hiding the truth even from her, with the justification that it was for her benefit!
“There’s no other choice. We must take extreme measures…!!”
※※※
“[FOX Team, do you copy? Commencing Operation ‘Reclaim Seoul.’ Good luck.]”
‘Ohh~ being a VTuber is hard~’
Right, hadn’t people said it’s like being locked in a basement signing hundreds of autographs? Sneaking into Seoul on a military helicopter… if even VTubers could pull this off, then sure.
Contrary to Won Da-hye’s worries, Wakamo believed that they entrusted her with such a task because she’d shown overwhelming power, though she regretted it.
It would be humiliating to meekly ask, ‘Can I skip this since I’m actually not that strong…?’
If she had to, she would. She wouldn’t back out on content!
Of course, she wasn’t swayed by Manager Won Da-hye’s promise to buy her a figurine. She trusted her Believers would believe her.
Just because of a figurine? Did they really think she came to a restricted zone for that? Ridiculous, they’d think she was crazy… but it was a rare limited-edition pink Shrine Maiden figure from the early days… How precious that was…
‘Once news breaks that an Unknown Climber reclaimed Seoul, I’m sure my Believers will come around to tease me again.’
Wakamo, who shared a bit of her secrets, was determined to ensure the agents with her wouldn’t get hurt, fully tense.
But she was more worried about Yu Ying’s first membership broadcast being ruined because of her.
“I heard HoX is such a popular game, but it must be scary. The same company that made RiX made this gem?”
“They’re the same company, mister.”
“[PUBG: Battlegrounds] must be nervous too. Now that there’s a Battlefield God Game out in Korea. FPS really is the best. Isn’t this SeX Attack 2?”
“Well, good luck. I’m a newbie at this game.”
Starting with improvised content. Contrary to concerns, the four agents who joined were talking naturally, fitting the gamer concept.
Opposite them sat Hajime Ichigo and Wakamo Inarizushi. Anyone could tell they were seasoned players with skins and experience.
“From here onward, it’s Seoul! Good luck!”
The moment they disembarked from the helicopter, they saw Geumcheon District’s boundary in Seoul.
Ahead of them lay the corrupted zone, stopped at the boundary, as if it was not digitally rendered in CG.
It was as though beyond this lay a twisted realm born from the Tower’s collapse, waiting as a true hellscape left neglected for ten years after the initial suppression failed.
“[FOX Team, here’s your target information. Objective: Defeat the King Triple-Headed Ogre residing in the 50-Floor Tower in Gwanak District .]”
“Roger.”
The communication screen appeared before leader Hajime Ichigo. It was like a hologram straight out of a game or sci-fi movie, and on the screen, Manager Won Da-hye, dressed in military uniform, was talking to Hajime. Not knowing much about the military, Hajime’s responses were cute, causing the agents to chuckle.
“[Hajime Ichigo. We’ll provide navigation to the boss along the shortest route. Resupply points are available at checkpoints along the way. I’ll mark the checkpoint locations for you.]”
The map appeared for everyone, marking the resupply points, the boss’s location, and the boss’s photo.
Wakamo was directing and synchronizing her Idol’s Form with [Internet Connection] in real time. Her abilities were so remarkable that the 3D CG team had nothing to do. Truly a Clipper.
“Yay.”
Gesturing downward with her palm, a light extended, marking the path.
It felt just like playing a virtual reality game, with familiar directions.
“Shall we go? By the way, is there snowfall here?”
“Mister, you haven’t played much.”
“Where can I pull a cute skin?”
“Alright, everyone. Let’s listen to Hajime’s orders. Shall we head out?”
Though it felt surreal to see a heavily armed agent throw out MZ-culture phrases, Fox God standing imposingly among them made it less noticeable.
Buzz──
[You have entered the Collapsing Tower’s Zone!]
[The Corruption level is high. Maximum danger level!]
[You cannot enter the Tower in this area!]
Warnings flashed the moment they stepped in. Wakamo led with a shield in front and her hammer clenched. Despite the peculiar commentary, the four agents formed a protective perimeter around Ichigo , moving together.
“Now that we’re in Geumcheon District, I remembered a trip to a place I like nearby.”
“What? Are you suggesting a group meet-up there, mister? Let’s focus!”
“Guys, I need to watch Shrine Maiden’s stream later tonight, so let’s finish this quickly…?”
“The loading is so fast, there’s no time for a cigarette break.”
Isn’t this called collective monologue? They each spoke their minds, just like actual gamers, as they continued to move.
Since it was outside the Tower, the filming was done by drones and Wakamo’s camera was also recording. During this, Manager Won Da-hye continued briefing Ichigo in real time. After telling her there was no need to reply, Ichigo took off her earpiece and tossed it aside.
“Everyone, scatter!!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, monsters that had caught the scent of humans began to converge from all directions. Mixed with green-skinned and humanoid monsters, they charged solely at the humans without fighting amongst themselves.
They formed a force but never fought each other, only seeking to kill humans. The sight of them rushing up the open four-way road, pushing up from the buildings and manholes, was truly a spectacle.
From the camera view above, it showed the massive horde of monsters swarming from all across Geumcheon District to attack!!
“I feel like I’ve seen this in WorXmer!!”
“Isn’t this a zombie game called World War something?! This isn’t lagging at all! What a great Earth server!!”
“Hey, we have our Boss’s stream schedule, so let’s finish quickly and go!!”
“Out of curiosity, is your Boss that Admiral of the Kemono Pirate Space Fleet?!?”
“It’s a stingray, Fox lady!!”
There was no need to aim; bullets were raining in all directions to fend off the oncoming monsters.
Even while running, the agents didn’t miss their professional quips. Suddenly, one agent was ensnared by a vine springing from a hole in the broken ceiling, lifting him into the air.
“Waaah!”
“Ke-dog!”
“Just leave him; that’s nature taking its course!”
They lost one agent in an instant, but the others weren’t fazed.
They kept sprinting, shooting down the swarming monsters filling the subway station, pushing forward until they reached the old tracks where trains once ran.
“Captain, there’s a Digger!”
As soon as they hit the tracks, Ichigo’s ears perked at the sound, and she swiftly bashed the incoming Digger with her shield, taking it down. Yet, the Digger had already clawed through the solid steel shield with its attack.
“Shield! Shield’s breaking!”
One agent, equipped with a protective item, rolled and grappled with the Digger, shooting it in the head. Yelling to Ichigo, he held up his visibly cracked shield.
“Guys!! Fire Breath!! Get out of the way!!!”
The ceiling above the tracks. Something lizard-shaped, hanging upside down, opened its maw and spewed flames. Ironically, the agent who yelled was already rolling away to the opposite side, leaving Ichigo to command the agents to move.
The monsters’ numbers were far greater than expected. An overwhelming wave of monsters was charging toward them, drawn by the scent of humans. Even as they shot down wave after wave, the situation seemed hopeless.
“Hmph!!”
Wakamo swung her shield with the clinging Digger attached, holding off the monstrous wave alone to buy them time.
With the path seemingly blocked, Ichigo threw open a steel door and darted through it. Two agents followed, guarding the door and holding back the monsters until Wakamo could join them. As soon as all three were inside, the monsters began battering against the now-closed door.
Bang!!
With a deafening sound, the door shattered and fell, casting the area into darkness.
And then, silence.
There was no one left inside.
※※※
“Rescue of Safe Team completed.”
Normally, more personnel would have been deployed, but fewer people made for better footage. The two rescued agents swapped out their equipment as if nothing had happened.
Using the cameras attached to each agent, Wakamo opened a portal, and the standby rescue team moved in to extract them.
No matter how much she thought about it, Wakamo seemed absurdly reckless and dangerous… but surely they didn’t actually plan to kill her, right? Well… it was Wakamo who didn’t know the agents in this mission had all been prepared to risk death!
Beyond the door to the stronghold, Wakamo had timed the portal perfectly.
And, watching the monsters retreating through the camera, Wakamo deactivated her [Skill].
“All right, let’s start filming. Everyone, take your positions.”
In the picturesque yard of a mansion, where the stacked supplies were hidden from view.
“Oh, what if I lose rank because of you, mister?”
“But I warned you about the Breath, didn’t I? We made it to the checkpoint, so have a drink.”
“If you’re the leader who nearly blew the party, thumbs up, lol.”
“What? What did you just say…!!”
Laughing and joking, the armed agents, still in their full gear, lifted teacups at a tea table that didn’t match the setting at all. Although their attitude was lighthearted, these agents, who had gathered with the resolve to risk their lives, professionally fulfilled their roles.
“Mmm~ Drinking this tea makes me feel like a lady.”
One agent held up a teacup daintily, pinky out, without even removing his helmet, pouring the tea directly onto his face.
Some were squatting in the corner, standing up and sitting down repeatedly.
Others swayed and bounced wildly while holding guns.
Someone even snapped a photo of Wakamo and Ichigo lying side by side.
There wasn’t a shred of tension in this operation scene…!!
On the opposite side of this filming, Manager Won Da-hye was reassessing the operation, taking into account the unexpected number of monsters. She was also investigating the appearance of previously unseen monsters, with the rescue team busy resupplying and rearming the agents.
There was no problem; supplies piled up on the lawn meant they could keep pouring out bullets like water without issue.
“Switching agents with Climbers would be…”
“That’s an option, but in that case, it would bring up these issues…”
The operation team was busy in their discussion.
“C’mon, watch our Space Cat Pirate VTuber, will ya?”
“Oh, Hako. I’m clipping that.”
“But if they see this, they’ll probably ask why we didn’t reclaim Seoul sooner?”
“Just bomb the monsters, kill the boss, let Climbers handle it. Sounds easy enough… They’ve been saying for a while that all we need is trained soldiers clearing the way with tactics to take down the boss, haven’t they?”
“Well, Climbers are still people, right? Human Rights Committee and all… Honestly, I don’t even know how the government’s managing this. Sure, we know Climbers are precious, but…”
“Our leader, have some snacks.”
“Munch munch.”
“Aww, so cute.”
FOX Team, chatting away as if they were on a picnic.
Wakamo was busy watching a shared Hako VTuber stream she’d been introduced to, Ichigo was munching on snacks, and a few agents were sprawled on the ground, grumbling about why they didn’t have trained soldiers instead of Climbers.
There were plenty of reasons, but summed up in one sentence: the government was just incompetent. That was all.
The danger couldn’t be ignored, but it wasn’t a problem that could be left alone indefinitely.
That’s why everyone here had placed their lives on the line, though they hadn’t told Wakamo and Ichigo. If they died accidentally, there were standby agents in the rescue team prepared as substitutes.
Their equipment was checked, their armor was flashy and extravagant.
There was no need to hold back on firepower.
As long as they didn’t make mistakes, they wouldn’t die.
The agents who had finished swapping out their Shield Items lined up in front of the portal Wakamo opened.
“Everyone ready? Let’s go?”
“Yes… understood!”
“The time has finally come.”
“Hey, Ke-dog, how old are you?”
“I heard this game was made by Novelpia, is that true? Shouldn’t they be investing in novels…”
“I hate Novelpia for ‘graduating’ my dear Novel-chan and Pia-chan… they should be investing in VTubers!!!”
“Didn’t they say both have been reincarnated?”
“I don’t want to hear that kind of truth!”
The agents, venting their VTuber-related frustrations, followed Wakamo , who led the charge with her shield.
As the shattered iron door loomed, Chapter 2 began.
The group disappeared into the pitch-dark tracks, swallowed by the unseeable depths.
