The Military Veteran Elementary School Girl’s Journey to the Throne Chapter 84

Chapter 84

‘My grandchildren? You mean Katrina and Brandon?’

‘Yeah. I’m not entirely sure, but from what I heard, that’s what she calls them.’

‘That’s a relief. I was worried since I hadn’t heard anything… But why did it take so long for just that message to be delivered?’

‘Because Aiorin only sent me today?’

‘Ah, right. That makes sense.’

Solinor, hearing Wendy’s indifferent reply, was reminded why conversing with spirits often felt like a waste of time.

Even if you asked them something, it was hard to get a straight answer. That’s just how spirits communicated…

Their way of thinking was fundamentally different from humans, and often left you feeling frustrated.

‘Anyway, thanks. Where is Aiorin now?’

‘In a forest.’

‘Huh? What forest?’

‘A forest is a forest. Are there other kinds?’

‘Ah… right.’

Solinor mentally scolded himself for repeating the same mistake.

He knew better than to ask vague questions like that. If he wanted answers, he had to be specific.

‘Let me rephrase. Do you know where Aiorin is heading?’

‘She’s on her way home.’

That answer, at least, was satisfactory. The content, however, was the problem.

‘What? Home? You mean the Fey Forest? The one she used to live in?’

‘Yep. That one.’

‘Why is she going there?’

‘Well… she said the kids are too skinny, so she’s taking them home to feed them properly?’

‘Huh? Too skinny? Well, they didn’t look very healthy, I guess.’

Solinor agreed without thinking. When he recalled Katrina’s complexion, it hadn’t looked good.

She lacked the rosy cheeks that children her age should’ve had—instead, her skin was pale and translucent.

‘Now that I think about it, her complexion definitely wasn’t great. Maybe she really was too skinny?’

It was hard to tell just from looking once.

She had been wearing frilly, flowing dresses typical of royalty, which hid her figure completely.

But judging by her pale skin, she probably didn’t have a healthy physique—just like Muriela once was.

Solinor hadn’t seen Brandon in person, but if he was raised the same way as Katrina, it was easy to guess.

He likely had the same frail frame and ghostly complexion.

To think his adorable grandchildren had been raised to be half-corpses instead of being properly fed…

Even though Queen Irina had suffered the miserable fate of being thrown in the underground prison, Solinor felt no pity for her.

Thinking of his frail grandchildren reminded him of how Muriela’s body had been when he first possessed it.

Come to think of it, Muriela had become incredibly healthy in just two and a half months.

At first, her body had been like a breathing doll—no exaggeration.

Comparing it to her current physical state, saying it was like heaven and earth wouldn’t even do it justice.

With a perfectly balanced diet and a strict daily schedule…

Stretching, strength training, swordsmanship practice—she was spending three to four hours a day improving her body.

That kind of schedule would be hard to believe for an adult, let alone an eight-year-old doing it on her own.

‘Still, it’s nice to see all that training paying off.’

Thinking that, Princess Muriela instinctively lifted and curled her arm in a flexing motion. Of course, no muscles appeared.

Wendy looked at the princess with an expression that said, “Here we go again,” as she immersed herself in her own world.

Meanwhile, Solinor was re-evaluating his goals as a martial artist.

His ultimate aim was to mold her into a boulder-like muscle warrior—just like he had been in his previous life.

Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to think he could achieve that overnight. Every journey begins with a single step.

To build that kind of physique without side effects, she’d need years of intense training and real combat.

Even elite knights like Hamilton couldn’t compare to Solinor’s peak physical form.

‘Still a long way to go. But at least she’s said to have talent for swordsmanship. I don’t see it, but since it’s the opinion of a trained knight, it must be true.’

Contrary to Solinor’s urgent desire to regain his prime, Muriela’s physical aptitude was below average.

Her current body was normal and healthy for a child her age.

Slightly chubby with a touch of baby fat, but well-toned from daily training.

But her motor coordination was the issue. No matter how fit someone is, some people just aren’t athletic.

Muriela was exactly that type. Her hands and feet didn’t work in sync, and she lacked agility.

‘Hey, crazy—no, Muriela. Hey! Crazy Muriela.’

Princess Muriela, lost in her own world of imagination, had been ignoring Wendy’s words for quite some time.

How she could ignore thoughts transmitted directly into her mind was a mystery—and a talent, if one could call it that.

Eventually, just as Wendy was about to call her a mad princess, she changed tack and mixed her words before Muriela finally responded.

‘Ah. Wendy. Why did you call me?’

‘Why do you think? You suddenly zoned out in the middle of our conversation.’

‘Huh? Really? What were we talking about again?’

Wendy was left speechless by the sheer absurdity.

A speech pattern so disarming it could fluster even a spirit.

‘Hey, what do you mean, “what were we talking about”? You asked me why Aiorin was going to the Fey Forest, and I answered you!’

‘Ah, right. She said she was going to feed the kids properly because they were too skinny, right?’

‘Yeah. Now it’s your turn to relay your message.’

‘Right. Just give me a second.’

Wendy felt a sudden sense of unease at those words.

But really, how long could it take? Surely it wouldn’t turn into another one of those endless moments that ended with a lackluster answer.

Solinor kept walking as he organized his thoughts on what to tell Aiorin.

A post-meal walk was serious business.

‘Hmm… I don’t think it’ll be a problem. The Fey Forest should be safe to live in. Even if something noisy happens in the capital soon, it shouldn’t be an issue. We just need to let Corbin know where the kids are.’

Having finished his thoughts, Solinor called out to Wendy.

‘Wendy! Ask Aiorin what she plans to do after taking the children to the Fey Forest. I’d like her help, if possible. Tell her that if she doesn’t absolutely have to stay in the Fey Forest, I’d appreciate it if she could return to my side.’

‘Alright. What’s gotten into you, giving me an answer so quickly? Well then, I’ll be off. Take care.’

‘You too. Take care.’

‘Farewell, Wendy.’

The two saw Wendy off as she turned back into a breeze to return to Aiorin’s side.

Now it was Solinor’s turn to send Zephyr to deliver a message to Corbin.

Of course, he could’ve sent Florina, but Zephyr needed experience as a messenger.

It was a dirty world that demanded newcomers to have experience, after all.

Even though Solinor had no intention of getting Zephyr employed anywhere else, giving him experience was still important.

Solinor drilled him with repetitions until Zephyr could deliver the message flawlessly.

And right around the time Muriela’s walk was ending, Zephyr returned, just as he had promised.

‘Princess! I’m back!’

‘Alright. Did you deliver the message properly? What did Corbin say?’

‘He said he understood. And he told me to let you know he met the Grand Magician. Also, he said the time to heal the tree roots is coming soon.’

‘Huh? The Grand Magician? Sylvius? When did he meet him? Well, that’s great news. Good job, Zephyr.’

‘I’m happy to be of help to you, Princess!’

After praising Zephyr, Solinor returned to the bedroom and began reflecting on the message.

‘So Corbin met Sylvius, did he? And healing the tree roots clearly refers to Silbrenoa. In other words, preparations are nearing completion. Hmm… The most important piece is the force that will complete the revolution and handle the aftermath, And if that’s already in place—whoever pulled that off is truly impressive.’

Come to think of it, it hadn’t even been three months since Solinor returned to this world.

An astonishing pace of progress, as if everyone had been expecting his return.

But really, when you thought about it, it made perfect sense.

After all, revolutions don’t happen in well-run, healthy countries.

Silbrenoa had long been festering with hidden cracks and rot.

For those with ambition, it was a time when anyone might be sharpening their blades, ready to rise.

And with the event of Solinor’s return, one of those factions had finally begun to move.

The old mainstream forces from the late king’s days—Aryen, Hadwin, Sylvius, and Corbin—had stepped forward.

But they weren’t the only ones.

There were several other armed groups within Silbrenoa as well.

Sensing their rivals stirring, they too began preparing to act.

Thus, Silbrenoa was once again on the verge of a turbulent era, one it had not seen since its founding.
