Chapter 59: Quest
〚Title: Blessing of Ophiuchus〛
- Grade: Mythical
- Rank: C+
- Description: The Blessing of the hidden 13th zodiac, Ophiuchus. Its abilities cannot be fully utilized for some reason.
- Abilities:
- Increases the efficiency of all healing abilities by 500%.
- Enhances the rank of all healing abilities by 5 tiers.

“Crazy.”
As expected of a mythical title. Unlike the title World Destroyer, which is of legendary grade but equally unusable, the disparity in their fundamental nature is overwhelming.
“Should I start collecting healing-related abilities now?”
I had initially planned to acquire healer-related abilities through my summons, but with this title in hand, the situation has shifted dramatically.
‘This is becoming a bit too diversified…’
Having many abilities isn’t always a good thing. Just as the Sun and Chaos conflicted, disparate abilities can clash, neutralize each other, or—worst-case scenario—cause the skill to go berserk, driving the user insane.
Such cases, while rare, do exist.
It’s essentially greed to aim for everything.
Even gods only handle powers within their domains.
Becoming entirely self-sufficient isn’t impossible, but it isn’t entirely feasible either.
It lies somewhere in between.
This was why I had excluded such scenarios from my plans after regression.
Even with Heavenly Fortune on my side, pursuing an absurd path was too risky.
That’s why I was aiming to obtain the profession that would allow for a one-person army.
“Fine, I’ll ask the Miracle Guild to procure them. I’ll focus on just acquiring healer-related abilities.”
The Miracle Guild is a haven for healers. Being an honorary director, I might as well double as a healer myself.
With that, I cleared my head of the complexities brought on by the sudden appearance of a god and turned to the next task.
[[Rune Activation]]
The first task was to use the rune. I opened my inventory, took out the rune, and activated it.
〚You have used the Rune: Crown of the Evolution Sovereign [Ancient-SSS+].〛
The rune was now properly displayed in my status window.
Next was the quest—a topic I was most curious about. It was a quest tied to the now-vanished god.
〚Hidden Quest: Seat of Arrogance – Lucifer’s Successor (1)〛
- Grade: Mythical
- Rank: A
- Description: Once a brilliant and revered archangel, Lucifer was celebrated by all. However, his immense power and magnificence corrupted him with arrogance. Sensing an opportunity, the origin of the Seven Deadly Sins—Arrogance—approached and led him to fall. Though now extinguished, he scattered fragments of his power across the world. Collect his power to become his true successor.
- Objective: Collect Lucifer’s 12 pairs of wings (2/24).
- Rewards:
- Authority: Fallen Archangel
- Authority: 24 Pairs of Chaos
- Authority: Halo of Light and Darkness
- Failure Penalty:
- Wing Ownership Revoked
- Stat: Arrogance Deleted
“Insane.”
The difficulty of clearing it aside, the rewards are outrageous.
It grants three authorities! That’s as many as I currently possess. All from completing a single quest.
‘Of course, that single quest is Mythical Grade and A-Rank…’
I closed the quest window and set aside my thoughts.
This was a quest that would take years to complete, at the very least.
There’s no point in getting ahead of myself right now.
‘If I buy the last one available on Earth and steal three from the invaders…’
In theory, I could secure six wings. That still leaves 18 more to collect, an overwhelming number.
Will I even manage to find half of them before I die of old age?
Not that I have any intention of giving up.
As I grew more accustomed to the surroundings, I stood up.
Now it’s time to seek out the hidden quest in this Primordial City—the starting point to acquiring the mythical profession, Emperor of Ten Thousand Spirits.
While it’s referred to as a mythical profession, there’s no way such a quest would simply exist at Stage 0.
However, in this Primordial City, there is an item obtainable as a reward that leads to the mythical profession quest.
It’s from the quest Eliminate the Monsters in the Underground Sewers (High Grade-E+), issued by the village guard captain. This is the most difficult quest available in the Primordial City.
To receive the quest, there’s preliminary work to be done.
The process is simple—raise the townspeople’s reputation. While it requires relentless grinding, the promise of a fruitful reward at the end makes it worthwhile.
“Hmm~ Should I head to the village center?”
Player quests can be found near the large billboard in the village center.
Walking along the main road, I soon arrived at the bustling central square filled with players.
Except for the original Abyss dwellers, all these people were players from South Korea—summoned here through portals from all over the nation.
Some had just arrived in this village, while others, having reached their limits, chose to settle here. A rare few from higher stages visited to rest.
I wove through the crowd and stopped near the billboard, the most densely populated area. Standing at an appropriate distance, I accessed the available quests.
〚Quest List〛
- Find Nikki’s Lost Flower Hairpin (Common-F-)
Reward: Flower Bracelet
- Eliminate the rats on Lady Shumia’s rooftop (Common-F-)
Reward: Dinner - Repair the table Derek broke while drunk (Common-F-)
Reward: Bottle of Sweet Wine
…
- Defeat three goblin scouts outside the city (Common-E+)
Reward: 15 Purple Coins - ??? (Unlock upon meeting requirements)
As I scanned through the 478 quests available, I sighed.
That 478th quest—the one requiring “Unlock upon meeting requirements”—was precisely the quest I needed.
The condition was to achieve a favorable impression level with over half of the village residents.
Needless to say, it wasn’t easy.
To accomplish this, one must complete quests given by the townspeople.
Unfortunately, the rewards for such quests were often worthless, which is why nearly all players ignored them.
There were occasional outliers who tried completing those quests, but they usually gave up after receiving nothing of value, further discouraging others.
After all, who would spend their time on quests that reward flower bracelets, dinner, or alcohol?
During that same time, one could kill at least one more goblin.
That’s why the most popular quest in the Primordial City was usually Quest 127, which involved defeating three goblin scouts and bringing back their corpses.
Since this was no longer the tutorial, the rewards—which used to be a single Purple Coin or a Magic Stone—had been significantly increased, along with the quest rewards.
If not for the daily limit of two attempts per day, everyone would have exploited that quest endlessly.
But for me, instead of choosing such rewarding quests, I needed to raise my favorability by completing mundane errands without tangible benefits.
And since favorability wasn’t a visible metric, it wasn’t easy to feel satisfied with the progress.
I might have to complete nearly all of the 500 quests available at this rate.
I decided to accept Quests 1 through 10—ten quests in total.
As the slots for those quests disappeared from the quest board, murmurs erupted among the players nearby.
Player Gossip:
— “Pfft! Someone actually accepted Quests 1 to 10.”
— “Are they insane? Do they have too much time? Or maybe they’re just a rich idiot.”
— “Nah, it’s probably one of those streamers trying to make content.”
— “Whatever the reason, poor soul. They’re going to get nothing out of it. Tsk tsk.”
— “Looks like a newbie. Just leave them be—they’ll quit out of exhaustion eventually. It’s not our problem anyway.”
— “True enough. Poor sap. While they’re slaving away, we’ll be making money.”
‘The pitiful ones here are you. You’re neither stronger nor wealthier than me, yet you have so much to say.’
My wealth is infinite—endless! Even counting just the coins in my inventory would take forever!
That reminded me of something else I needed to check.
I opened my inventory and looked at a specific item: a ticket. It was the Zero-Grade Merchant Summoning Ticket, earned as a reward for destroying a world.
Along with it were 10,005 black-and-white coins.
A merchant of this grade wouldn’t even consider purple coins as real currency; only the rarest black and white coins held any value.
‘The old texts mentioned that sightings of Zero-Grade Merchants are extraordinarily rare.’
The fact that I could summon such a being was remarkable. I decided to finish the accepted quests first and summon the merchant during a break.
After all, there was no point in hoarding black-and-white coins if I couldn’t use them immediately.
First Quest: Nikki’s Hairpin
I followed the system’s guidance to a small house.
Knock knock.
After I knocked, a small creature peeked out from behind the door. It was a young girl, her small face peering at me through the crack.
“Who awe you?”
She was a little girl who could barely speak properly.
As I knelt down to meet her eye level, I was reminded of my younger sister.
“Hi, Nikki. Are you alone? Where are your parents?”
“They awe at wowk. Who awe you, weally?”
“You asked someone to find your hairpin, didn’t you? I’m here to help.”
At my words, Nikki’s face lit up, and she nodded enthusiastically. Her adorable reaction made me smile as I asked again.
“Do you remember where you lost it? Can you tell me?”
“Hmm… ovew thewe, on the hiww. I was pwaying.”
I turned to look at the small hill she pointed at. That should be easy enough. I nodded and stood up.
“I’ll be right back. Eat this while you wait.”
I handed her a candy I had received from Seo Ye-rin, then headed toward the hill.
The hill was small.
The grass wasn’t too long, and finding a hairpin wouldn’t be difficult—especially not for a hunter like me.
“Sun Eye.”
My eyes flared crimson.
With Stat: Sun now absorbed into Stat: Arrogance, the red glow of my eyes grew brighter.
Other than this minor change, the skill’s effects had only slightly improved.
Still, it was more than enough to locate a lost hairpin.
Before I even completed half a lap around the hill, I spotted the hairpin hidden among the grass.
After brushing off the dirt and dust, I returned to Nikki and handed it to her.
“Wow! Pwetty!”
As the system confirmed the quest’s completion, Nikki ran inside and returned with a few flowers, crudely tying them into a bracelet around my wrist.
“Tank you.”
“Sure. Don’t cry until your parents get home, okay?”
“What awe you doing now, Bwotha?”
“Me? I have to help other people. Why? Are you bored? Want to come along?”
Her eyes sparkled as she nodded enthusiastically. Her reaction made me smile wryly.
As I lifted her and placed the hairpin back on her head, memories of my own childhood surfaced.
Back then, I was responsible for looking after my younger sister while our parents worked long hours.
Even after we were sent to an orphanage, she’d cling to me, scared to mix with the other children.
At the time, it had felt like such a burden.
But looking back now, I realized how endearing it had been.
Nikki reminded me of those days—seeking attention and craving comfort. I couldn’t bring myself to ignore her.
With her in my arms, I smiled and headed off to complete the next quest: eliminating rats.
