I Became an Archangel in a Fantasy Chapter 0

Chapter 0

The scene before her eyes.

To describe it in a single word:

Hell.

The stench of decay vibrating from all directions.

The chilling sound of rusty armor clashing.

And.

Hundreds of undead surging like a wave.

Rusty armor,

Putrid, decayed flesh,

Half-exposed bones.

And the red gleam flashing between the empty eye sockets.

As she gazed upon the cursed corpses that charged forward with nothing but slaughter in mind, devoid of reason or fear,

She.

The leader of the Eden Knights.

One of the greatest warriors of the Kanan Kingdom.

Holy Knight Eva Gellion, now feeling the weight of her sword more than ever, swung it with all her might.

-Wham!!

-“Kyaaaaahhh!!!”

With a strike from the holy sword imbued with divine power, the Skeleton Knight shattered into dust.

Normally, it would be impervious to ordinary attacks, but the blessed silver mixed with the sword’s divine power obliterated its false life in a single blow.

However, despite the brief victory, a deeper shadow loomed over Eva’s face.

Another wave of undead pushed forward immediately after the defeated Skeleton Knight.

Even with the full strength of 11 holy knights, including herself, the enemy’s momentum showed no signs of waning.

In contrast, their own strength and divine power were rapidly depleting with time.

‘There’s no way…’

As the leader of the Eden Knights, Eva had overcome countless hellish battles.

But no matter how much she thought about it,

She couldn’t come up with a solution to the current situation.

Overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies.

Even with the advantage of the holy knights against the undead, there was no sharp solution against such a horrifying quantity.

Even the terrain was the worst, as they were trapped in a plain.

It wasn’t about finding a way out of this situation,

It was about not putting herself and her subordinates into this situation in the first place.

But.

Despite everything.

She did not regret her decision at this moment.

Not only her, but all 11 knights present here did not regret being in this situation.

“Will… they have escaped safely?”

“Probably. And that guy, Yozef… he must have delivered the news to the kingdom for sure.”

Their own deaths were certainly painful and frightening.

However,

Considering the outcome their sacrifice would bring, they would have willingly chosen this path even if given another chance.

To protect this country,

To protect its people.

But.

“Kuhhh!”

“Issac!”

Despite their conviction, the cost of their choice came crashing in without a trace of mercy.

“Kraaaahhh!”

“Kuhhh!”

The knights fell screaming.

With the gaps created, the barely maintained defensive formation began to collapse in an instant.

“Ah… No…”

“D-Dear Leader… S-Sorry…”

The sight of comrades falling one by one, their voices filled with agony.

Eva’s heart was overwhelmed with dreadful despair and sorrow as she watched.

“Kuh… Huhhh… Ughhh…”

Eva, shedding tears among her dying comrades.

Now, she was the only holy knight left standing on her own two feet.

With her body covered in wounds, she squeezed her remaining strength and held her sword upright.

“Ah… Oh God! Please…!”

Eva raised her voice with her final resolve.

With those words, she charged toward the undead swarming her.

To fulfill her duty until the very end despite the horrible pain.

At that moment.

-Bam!

“!”

In an instant, a brilliant light began to pour down.

The light, so intense it felt like the sun falling from the sky, forced Eva to instinctively cover her eyes.

‘Wh-what is this?…’

Eva was caught in bewilderment at the unexpected situation.

Yet, the blindingly intense light prevented her from even opening her eyes.

How much time had passed?

As the light that was piercing to her eyes faded and her vision returned to normal,

Eva cautiously lowered her hand that had been shielding her eyes.

There were no more undead.

The stench of corpses,

The cries of the dead, all had disappeared.

Only one thing remained.

A large, luminous presence hovering in the air,

Shining softly in the darkness.

It had six wings, with two covering its face, two covering its feet, and two for flying. (Isaiah 6:2)

And, its wings and surroundings were filled with countless eyes. (Revelation 4:8)

An entity that could not be considered a normal living being.

Nevertheless, the divine power emanating from it was so pure and overwhelming compared to any power she had ever experienced.

The strange and yet instinctively terrifying massive entity,

Stared at Eva with its many eyes.

And.

Spoke.

[Do not be afraid.]
