I Became the Goddess of a New World Chapter 70

Chapter 70

After completing the Twisted World Tree Raid, changes occur in Elderheim.

The monsters appearing in Elderheim’s hunting grounds and dungeons change.

Dark Elves and Corrupted Spirits no longer appear.

Instead, remnants of Salvation Church forces of a higher rank now spawn.

Naturally, the newly appearing Salvation Church monsters are level 80 or higher.

If you don’t clear the Twisted World Tree Raid, it becomes difficult to progress beyond level 80.

The reason for this design was simple.

Without appropriately challenging the content at the intended level,

players could endlessly increase their stats and brute force the raid with damage.

A similar design was implemented during the Elder Lich Raid.

Having seen the positive effects of such a design once before,

there was no reason not to continue using this method moving forward.

“…That doesn’t mean there aren’t any issues.”

I’ve been closely monitoring one indicator through the Creator’s Authority for a long time.

Bus rides.

The act of hiring highly geared players with in-game currency to carry others.

This includes dungeons, hunting grounds, and even boss raids.

Since the release of the Elder Lich Raid,

the frequency of bus rides has steadily increased,

to the point where it’s now impossible to ignore.

“If the buses relied solely on in-game currency, it wouldn’t matter much.”

Even with constant restrictions on cash farmers and workshops,

the relationship between the game and the real-world market was inextricable.

No matter how many times we tried to eliminate it,

real-money transactions kept resurfacing.

The same went for buses.

There was no way buses could operate purely on in-game currency.

Even the in-game currency paid as compensation ultimately gets used in real-money transactions.

In the end, real-world money was exerting significant influence in virtual reality.

“How’s the arena doing?”

The Levilly Republic’s location had already spread across the entire community.

Some players had already left reviews about the arena content.

This isn’t bait?

ㄴSurprisingly, it’s a real location.

ㄴWhat are the mods doing?

ㄴTiananmen this thread, dammit.

ㄴ(Mod): It’s Akare-related, so I can’t delete it…

ㄴOh, damn.

ㄴLOL

ㄴRecord Eye-style PC is hilarious.

ㄴ”I’ll teach you about PC.”

ㄴYou can smell the sweat from the images;;

ㄴThe orc looks like an NTR expert, lol.

―――

Hmm.

Even I think it’s a bit much.

But what can I do?

I can’t just snap my fingers and change the appearances of beastfolk and orcs.

It was odd to begin with that the person who wrote this review

deliberately chose to capture images of men when the streets of the Levilly Republic were filled with female warriors.

For those unaccustomed, seeing beastfolk often evokes comments about furries.

But beastfolk and furries are entirely separate categories.

Humans with animal skins are beastfolk,

while animals with human skins are furries.

The beastfolk in the Levilly Republic are exactly that—beastfolk.

The accusations that Aurora is into furries, or that she’s a furry enthusiast,

are baseless slander that pains me to see.

[Title] Arena Info Compilation So Far

Basically, the arena is 1v1.

There are three types of combat modes in the arena:

Ranked Match (Struggle Battle) and Casual Match (Mock Battle)

Both of the above modes apply balancing adjustments to the character.

This prevents internal stats and equipment from having any influence.

Each class also receives separate balancing adjustments.

In other words, it’s purely about physical skill.

The last combat mode, Fighting Spirit Battle,

can be considered an unbalanced version of Ranked Match.

At the end of each season, Ranked Match rewards players with in-game currency based on their rank.

Meanwhile, Fighting Spirit Battle gives honor-based rewards instead of in-game currency.

(Special effect image: “Conqueror”)

Details about the special effects aren’t available yet.

It’s said that seasons are conducted on a quarterly basis.

That weapon avatar looks amazing.

ㄴI really want the hunter snake emblem musket.

ㄴWouldn’t this make martial artists dominate everything?

ㄴThey said classes are separately balanced, though.

ㄴGot it.

―――

The introduction of previously unavailable weapon avatars drew significant interest.

While many advance players were still progressing through the Twisted World Tree Raid,

almost every other player had gathered in the Levilly Republic.

“So many people.”

Currently, I’m in the Levilly Republic as Fera.

My purpose here is, of course, to try out the newly opened arena.

I wanted to experience it from the perspective of a player rather than a developer.

“How frustrating.”

Ever since I streamed wearing the nun outfit avatar,

I’ve been recognized more frequently, which has been extremely tiresome.

As a result, I stopped wearing the nun outfit avatar entirely.

Instead, I acquired the Inquisitor’s new gear along with an old robe.

Although fewer people recognize me now,

the inconvenience of wearing full-body armour persisted.

The robe constantly slipped down and blocked my view, which was annoying.

Still, I managed to reach the arena somehow.

Upon entering the waiting room, a familiar holographic UI appeared.

Fighting Spirit Match and Ranked Match.

Ranked Match was purely about physical skill,

while Fighting Spirit Match also factored in character stats.

Since no balancing adjustments were applied in Fighting Spirit Match,

it naturally favoured classes specialized in PvP, like martial artists.

“That’s fair.”

Martial artists excelled in PvP but were just decent in raids.

While they used to perform well in raids, that was only in the early stages.

Martial artists had already started struggling compared to other classes in PvE content.

It was only fair to give them a solid footing in PvP content to balance things out.

To address potential complaints about balance,

the rewards for Fighting Spirit Match were exclusively honour-based and had no impact on in-game progression.

This way, even if people complained, it wouldn’t cause a major uproar.

“Let’s just queue up for now.”

[Matching for Ranked Match…]

Without hesitation, I selected Ranked Match.

Currently, Fera’s stats weren’t even close to the advance players’ level.

“I don’t need honour rewards anyway.”

Still, participating in Ranked Match, which offered in-game currency rewards at the end of the season, was better.

[Matching complete!]

As the match was confirmed, the opponent’s information appeared.

The class was Cultist.

Judging by the lack of record history, it seemed to be their first placement match, like mine.

And their nickname…

“…What?”

A familiar nickname caught my eye.

[Entering the arena.]

The scenery around me changed in an instant.

***

Suzuka had been feeling exceptionally good lately.

First, the Twisted World Tree Raid had concluded.

The meetings and contracts regarding her transition to Twitch TV were successfully completed.

Because of this, she had taken a few days off from streaming.

It felt as though everything in her life was falling into place recently.

Suzuka’s condition had reached its peak.

[Suzuka’s Broadcast! – Akashic Records]

“Is the drops feature in my stream working properly?”

Suzuka’s new home, Twitch TV.

As expected of a global platform, various foreign languages appeared in the chat window.

However, foreign language chats were no longer a problem.

Wow, real-time translation is insane.

Suzuka has gone global.

Korea’s #1 Party Cultist? ? ? [Translated]

It’s working, yep.

―――

Real-time translation and interpretation.

Suzuka’s words were instantly translated into the viewer’s native language.

Likewise, the various languages in the chat were translated according to the viewer’s location.

It wasn’t just crossing borders—it was transcending them.

Many were curious about the astonishing technology behind this,

but for Suzuka, who was streaming, it didn’t really matter.

  • Suzuka, have you heard about the Arena news?
    ―――

“Yes, I’ve heard about it. I’m not particularly fond of PvP, but I should try it at least once, right?”

News about the Levilly Republic had already reached her.

The first PvP content, the Arena, was located there.

As a streamer, it was content she couldn’t simply ignore.

Thus, Suzuka immediately visited the Arena upon arriving at the Levilly Republic.

“Ranked Match… Fighting Spirit Match…”

Although Ranked Match appeared to offer equal competition due to its adjustments,

you were bound to lose if you faced someone with exceptional physical skill.

In that sense, Suzuka had an advantage in Fighting Spirit Match.

Most advance players were currently busy with the Twisted World Tree Raid.

In other words, Fighting Spirit Match was practically an empty arena at the moment.

“Let’s try Ranked Match.”

But something easy wasn’t entertaining.

As a streamer, it was natural for her to pursue fun.

Suzuka queued up for Ranked Match.

And her first opponent turned out to be none other than…

“Fera?”

―――

LOL

Stream sniping?

Do you know them? [Translated]

Toxic sniping Crassaire, lol.

Would Mark of Heresy activate here?

She just ran into her school bully.

―――

Whether it was a coincidence

or deliberate stream sniping,

it didn’t really matter.

An Inquisitor and a Cultist matched together?

The match-up was so disadvantageous that winning wasn’t even remotely possible.

Not just close to zero—

it was literally zero.

There was no chance at all.

“Uh, um, Fera?”

“…It’s been a while, Suzuka.”

Fera removed her worn robe and stepped forward.

Her full-body Inquisitor armor radiated an overwhelming sense of authority.

Just brushing against that sharp armor looked like it could leave scars deep enough to last forever.

“It’s such a coincidence to meet you here.”

“A coincidence?”

No.

You’re smiling.

And yet you call this a coincidence?

No matter how you looked at it, it was clear this was deliberate sniping!

“I can’t forgive toxic viewers.”

“That’s a commendable attitude.”

Suzuka immediately began the fight.

The Cultist’s First Awakening Skill, Betrayal of Shadows.

A simple skill that restrained the target using shadows.

Following that, she used another First Awakening Skill, Whip of Depravity.

Suzuka swung the whip with all her strength at the restrained Fera.

“Your whipping technique is terrible.”

Fera, who effortlessly caught the rapidly moving whip, offered some criticism.

“When using a whip, you need to move your wrist gently. Simply swinging it hard doesn’t channel all the force into it.”

She used Radiant Light to dispel the betraying shadows.

With her restraints broken, Fera began approaching Suzuka.

“And you need to extend your leading foot slightly for balance when swinging. Most importantly, coordination between your arm and wrist is critical.”

Testing the waters with Fera wouldn’t work.

Realizing this, Suzuka immediately acted.

One of the Cultist’s Revelation Skills, the unique Tier-1 skill: Fickle Nightmare.

An unpredictable nightmare engulfed the surrounding area.

“This is something only repeated practice can perfect.”

“…Thanks for the advice.”

The Cultist’s Second Awakening Skill, Divine Possession.

A skill exclusive to the High Cleric lineage of the Second Awakening branch.

On top of that, Fickle Nightmare boosted Suzuka’s overall stats.

In that moment, the stat difference between Suzuka and Fera widened drastically.

With Fera currently letting her guard down,

this was Suzuka’s perfect—and only—opportunity to win.

Believing so, Suzuka unleashed her full power.

“That’s unfortunate.”

A Mark of Heresy was imprinted on Suzuka’s body.

Inquisitor’s Mark of Heresy.

Followed by Sanctification.

Shrouded in an aura of light, Fera’s appearance was like that of a god descending to the mortal realm.

“Assuming your opponent wasn’t an Inquisitor, your decision would’ve been correct.”

Suzuka quickly decided to retreat.

Facing an Inquisitor who had used Sanctification head-on was suicidal.

She needed to at least wait out the cooldown for Fickle Nightmare.

However, among heretics who turned their back on an Inquisitor,

none survived.

Before she knew it, Fera had closed the distance and delivered the verdict.

“Find Salvation.”

A Judgment of Death.
