Chapter 33
What did we get as the reward for the 18th floor?
When I checked the inventory, all I saw was 【Growth Stone】 and 【Magic Stone】.
…The reward feels underwhelming.
I handed the Growth Stone to Nika and decided to save up the Magic Stones for a bulk sale later.
After all, I’m not in urgent need of money anymore.
“Well then, shall we go see my sister?”
More importantly, I hadn’t even thought about how to introduce the Heavenly Demon this time. Saying I met her at church again would sound odd, so maybe I’ll say we met at a cathedral?
…There’s no way anyone would believe it if I said a temple.
“Let me say this again—please follow my lead when I speak.”
“Don’t worry; I’m not so clueless,” the Heavenly Demon said confidently, which only made me feel more anxious.
No, there’s no point worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet.
We all moved to the underground parking lot and got into the secondhand car I’d bought. The Heavenly Demon looked around, fascinated.
“There truly are many strange things in this world.”
When I reached over to help her with her seatbelt, she flinched and looked flustered. She really seems weak to physical contact.
As I started the engine and slowly drove off, the Heavenly Demon continued marveling at everything.
“So, you press that thing at your feet to make it go? There are two of them.”
“One is for stopping, and the other is for accelerating.”
“Then do you drive using both feet?”
“No, you switch between them with one foot.”
…Driving with both feet? Who in their right mind would do such a crazy thing?
I used to tease my sister, pretending that’s how people drive, but it’s no fun teasing someone who knows nothing about driving.
And for the record, I’m an excellent driver.
As we left the parking lot, the view of towering skyscrapers unfolded before us. The Heavenly Demon stared out the window, amazed.
Lillian, who had a similar reaction when she first arrived, now sat in the back, explaining things to the Heavenly Demon as if she were an expert.
“Those are called buildings. Very tall structures.”
“They are truly tall.”
“Did you know it only takes a few months to build one?”
“Is that really true?”
Listening to their conversation was like watching two children chat, and it was too cute.
Suppressing a laugh, I parked at the hospital and led the Heavenly Demon and Lillian to my sister’s room. My sister was chatting with some ladies, her laughter loud enough to be heard in the hallway.
“Brother’s here.”
“You’re here?!”
She turned her head to greet me but froze when her eyes landed on the Heavenly Demon. Her expression immediately hardened.
She gave a look that practically screamed, “Who the hell is this woman now?”
“She’s someone I know from a cathedral.”
“…First a church, and now you’re attending a cathedral?”
“I do it all for you, my dear sister.”
Holding her hand, I said, “Sister, shall we pray together?” in the most sincere voice I could muster, and her face went blank.
It was an improvised excuse, but it was perfect—until my sister’s next comment.
“Then why is she wearing my clothes?”
“……”
I had completely forgotten that the Heavenly Demon was wearing her clothes.
Why didn’t I think of that?
Should I say she spilled soup at my place and needed a change of clothes?
Would anyone believe that?
At that moment, the Heavenly Demon stepped forward. As soon as she made eye contact with my sister, my sister’s expression softened, almost dazed.
“My name is the Cheonma (means Heavenly demon). Please take care of me.”
“P-please take care of me, too, Cheonma… Big Sis.”
“Yes.”
The situation resolved itself in an instant, and the Heavenly Demon looked back at me with a triumphant smile.
But… my sister’s eyes looked strange.
No, this wasn’t normal. It was like she was looking at her first love or something.
“What did you do?!”
“I merely used Bewitchment Arts.”
“Nika.”
【Education!!!!!!】
“W-wait! Let’s talk this out! Why are you doing this?!”
Before she could explain, Nika whisked her away through a gate that Lillian created.
What did she just do to my sister?! And what even is Bewitchment Arts?!
My sister, still dazed, stared blankly, and the other ladies in the room seemed to be in the same state.
“I’ll handle it.”
“Please.”
With Lillian’s magic, they slowly came back to their senses, but their eyes still seemed slightly unfocused.
“Where did that pretty Big Sis go?”
“S-she had some urgent business and left.”
“Really? She was so pretty.”
This isn’t normal.

“Next time, please don’t do anything strange to my sister.”
“Don’t worry. Trust me.”
“That’s exactly why I’m worried.”
“Our Master has little faith in me.”
After ensuring my master had entered their room with final words of encouragement to rest, I turned to head outside, only to be stopped by Lillian.
“Where are you going?”
“I’d like to explore this world.”
“Hmm… I’d be worried about sending you alone. At least take this.”
She handed me a ring. When I asked what it was, she explained it was enchanted with magic that allowed me to summon her if I needed help.
“I’ll gladly accept it.”
“Then have a safe trip.”
With a single step, I found myself in the middle of a crowded park, surrounded by people.
It was immediately apparent that this was a peaceful world. Even at this late hour, so many people were freely roaming around.
I glanced at them and suppressed a bitter feeling as I moved forward.
Before I knew it, I’d reached the top of one of those massive structures they called buildings. While feeling the cool breeze and gazing down at this other world, I sensed a familiar presence in the distance.
“Could there be a demonic practitioner in this world as well?”
Unable to suppress my curiosity, I moved toward the source of the energy, only to be greeted by a thick scent of blood.
In a lavishly decorated lodging, several women lay collapsed on the floor. A man, grinning obscenely, was pulling down his pants.
“So you’re not a demonic practitioner but a mere insect.”
Before his filthy eyes could register my presence, I swung my hand, and his head fell to the floor with a dull thud.
“Pretender of the demonic path, an insect like you belongs in the dirt.”
I approached the collapsed women and checked their pulses. They were alive and would regain consciousness soon.
This much help should be more than enough.
After all, I spared their lives.
Perhaps it was my hope of meeting someone from the same path after so long.
Suppressing my bitter feelings, I left and headed “home.”
“You’re back already?”
“Yes.”
Leaving behind Lillian, who greeted me warmly, I entered my room and laid down on the soft bed. Somehow, the bitter feelings were beginning to fade.
“I’ve grown sentimental.”
Was it the effect of my sealed powers? Or was it because of the Master’s influence?

【Breaking News】A mysterious body found at a hotel—turns out to be an S-rank Hunter.
└An S-rank Hunter was killed at a hotel?
└Not just anyone can reach S-rank. How is this even possible?
└This sounds like a poorly written web novel. LOL.
└Even a bad web novel wouldn’t get away with something like this.
【Breaking News】S-rank Hunter ‘King of Steel’ found dead.
└Wasn’t his defense supposed to be top-tier even if his attack was weak?
└He couldn’t even react before he was killed in one strike?
└That kind of power sounds like an SS-rank Hunter or higher.
└Do we even have someone like that in Korea? This isn’t the US. LOL.
The internet was ablaze with news.
One of Korea’s S-rank Hunters, known as the King of Steel, had been killed.
And it happened at the hotel where he was staying.
What kind of nonsense was this to hear first thing in the morning?
An S-rank isn’t some dime-a-dozen D-rank Awakener you could find wandering the streets. How does someone like that get killed in a hotel?
As I prepared breakfast, I overheard something I shouldn’t have.
“All this fuss over such a weakling.”
A shocking comment came from the Heavenly Demon.
She usually had no interest in people, and considering she wasn’t from this world, that made sense. But why did she sound like she’d met him?
“Just in case—did you meet this person?” I asked, pointing to the large photo displayed on the TV.
She nodded.
“He was doing something filthy last night, so I removed his head. It was disgraceful to think he was a fellow practitioner of the demonic path.”
“……”
“A true demonic practitioner seeks strength, even if it means using cowardly or underhanded methods to defeat their foes. They aren’t vile creatures who succumb to lust and violate defenseless women like some depraved sex demon.”
With a smug expression, she went on and on about the principles of being a proper demonic practitioner, while Nika tapped my shoulder lightly.
【Education?】
“…Education.”
