Chapter 1
Year 2014.
Giant towers appeared everywhere on Earth.
The shining towers visible through the windows seemed like the last bastion, signalling the impending end of the world.
Simultaneously, humanity began to awaken, and at the same time, they understood what the towers signified.
And what would happen if the towers collapsed.
Next, they realized how to respond to prevent the extinction of humanity.
The world, or rather an unknown entity that people were unaware of, labelled these awakened ones as “Climbers.”
There was no better term to describe those who ascended the towers.
Those chosen by the world to climb the towers could obtain honour and wealth. Along with it, they shouldered a mission and responsibility.
Of course, with the sudden emergence of the towers and the sudden appearance of countless superhumans beyond imagination, the government struggled to manage not just the towers, but also to control the Climbers, fearing the unrest they might cause.
Initially, the Climbers complied with the regulations, even though they grumbled like any other members of society. Once it became known that the resources obtained from climbing the towers could transform civilization, the rights and treatment of the Climbers improved in some areas, but in others, they were harshly exploited, and the non-awakened were fed distorted information through all sorts of media, suppressing and controlling them.
Overseas travel became impossible, and even those who came from other countries were detained and imprisoned.
──Finally, two years after the appearance of the towers.
People who hadn’t even chosen to become Climbers found themselves with miserable treatment. Unable to bear the relentless criticism that poured down whenever they made a mistake, many fled. Some even deserted, treated like soldiers, while others abandoned their families and escaped to foreign countries that offered better conditions.
The result was the collapse of Seoul.
If a tower isn’t conquered or updated for a certain period, its collapse rate increases, and eventually, it will crumble, releasing whatever was inside the tower. This obliterates everything humanity has built over the ages—cities, civilizations—in an instant. It was a disaster beyond natural calamities, an apocalypse.
What did Seoul mean to South Korea?
The collapse of Seoul was equivalent to South Korea itself being devastated in that era. All Climbers remaining in Korea were ordered to keep Seoul intact, even if it meant their lives. Martial law was imposed, leading to forced detainment and threats. Eventually, the rage of the Climbers, who could no longer endure, erupted.
The resentment of the people was directed not at the Climbers, but at the upper echelons that failed to improve their treatment. And before they could deal with it, many things disappeared along with the crumbling Seoul. The Climbers who were safe in the provinces and the assemblyman who had supported their welfare and tax exemption established the Tower Countermeasure Association.
Incheon became the second capital, and as numerous cities around the world collapsed, the resources obtained from the towers heralded a new golden age for humanity in another sense. Eight years had passed since then.
Even in 2024, the towers still existed. No one knew who selected the Climbers, but a small number of people continued to awaken, surviving by resolving the disasters caused by the towers and the collapsed towers.

“To me, this is s**! This is f*ing s! You crazy virgins!”
┗Calm down, streamer.
┗Why does this crazy b**** only look at stock charts whenever she starts broadcasting?
┗Even Newton didn’t know stocks, but this chick knows them so damn well.
┗Thanks to you, I made money, streamer!
┗Kick out the small-time investors!!
In one corner of the broadcast screen, a beauty with black hair, fox ears, closed eyes, and striking shark-like teeth—quite uncharacteristic for her appearance—was excitedly shouting in a cute voice as she looked at the soaring red stock chart.
“I told you, no need for Viagra! Just look at how erect it is! Do you get now why I don’t take your measly tips? Learn from me!! None of your dumbasses have empty heads without having invested, right?!”
┗ Haha;; Thought we’d go broke this time.
┗Of course, I didn’t invest. I’m not crazy.
┗There’s no streamer in the world who doesn’t take donations except for our streamer.
┗This girl’s brain is full of dopamine…
“Bitcoin is done for!”
The streamer began a long speech, confidently stating that the investment they made will lead the bullish trend. Claiming to have received divine inspiration, they threw in their full seed money and went full margin, even buying Dogecoin, shouting, “We’re going to Mars!!” while shaking their head madly from side to side during the broadcast.
“Since I made a huge profit today, should I clip this?”
┗No, seriously, with this kind of energy, you should be climbing ranks instead of clipping content!
┗Why the hell are you wasting your insane talent on clipping instead of streaming?
┗What minor VTuber have you found this time…
┗Streamer, do you only eat and watch VTuber streams? Why do you know so many unknown names every time you kill off your list?
“Well, it’s the era of the great VTuber boom!! Is it funny that I stay holed up in my room watching streams all day? I’m serious about this! This is my life!”
┗Different dimension of no-lifing;
┗Even we think this is a bit too much.
┗The streamer has 2,000 videos on the channel, but none of them are their own content. That’s true madness.
┗If you’re curious about any VTuber in the world, just subscribe to this guy’s channel.
On the schedule board displayed above the 2D character in the broadcast screen, various broadcast dates and events were noted. However, they were written so small that you’d need a magnifying glass to read them. All the text represented the scheduled times of other VTuber streams and details on viewer participation events, known as “shichan” content.
As a clipper, his main job was to cut and upload clips of the videos he watched—sometimes with or without permission. Yet, he stood out in a unique way. In Korea, he was particularly known as a madman who wasted his life on VTubers in a different sense.
He was a hyena who searched for newly debuted minor VTubers, spending the money he earned from stocks and Bitcoin donations on them. That was his true identity.
One could say that his love for VTubers was excessive.
Because he was born a man, he could never become the ideal VTuber he envisioned, so he dedicated himself to watching streams and clipping content as if it were his lifelong duty.
Click, click.
Today, he booted up the editing program and opened his notepad to prepare for editing the eight-hour-long video of his beloved “oshi,” or favorite VTuber, that he had checked through timestamps. Viewers, familiar with his obsessive behaviour, shook their heads at his madness, yet didn’t leave and started chatting amongst themselves.
Though he had been streaming for five years, he didn’t broadcast frequently. After all, even the VTuber character he was using was something he had created with a minimal setting to participate in VTuber content.
The character had a brief backstory—an ancient fox god who was released from a seal and started VTubing in the modern world.
Known by the name Wakamo Inarizushi, a VTuber with around 200 average viewers and about 70,000 subscribers. He often appeared in VTuber-related algorithms and was more famous as a clipper than for his own broadcasts.
He called his channel’s viewers Shinja, which means believers, aligning with the divine concept of his fox god character. Using a female character as a male creator, commonly known as Bamiyuk, he was, in a sense, not very popular, yet strangely well-known in community sites, where people would say, “Isn’t that him?”
“Seriously, this is true talent. What would our ‘oshi’ have done if she wasn’t a VTuber?”
┗Aren’t you the one who watches your ‘oshi’ scream in horror while you’re terrified of zombies and ghosts yourself? Isn’t that more talent?
┗The streamer, who can’t handle spooky music, still added subtitles to a seven-hour horror collab featuring twelve people. Isn’t that true talent?
┗For real, lol
┗No, this psycho screams like a little girl when a ghost jumps out, but smiles and giggles during his ‘oshi’s’ horror stream.
“Anyways, good job, believers. I found a new VTuber who’s holding a duel tournament, so come watch it then.”
┗ “Damn it, you crazy bastard, how many duel tournaments are there?”
┗ “Tell us who the new recruit is before you leave, you insane girl!”
┗ “You’ve added 40 VTubers to the list, and 27 of them are holding duel tournaments.”
“Huh? Of course, I’m planning to watch all 27.”
┗ “Ahahaha, she’s lost it!”
┗ “Are you really crazy? Have you really gone mad?”
┗ “If you don’t start climbing ranks now, you won’t even make it to Bronze!”
┗ “Damn it, you’re going to have 27 streams open simultaneously and play cards? I’m going to lose my mind!!!”
To the desperate cries and wails of the believers, the character on the screen lifted a wine glass, moving her hand elegantly. With a mischievous smile filled with exhilaration, she let out a giggle and ended the broadcast with a single line, “I’m off to watch the streams.”
The fan club, as expected, was full of excited believers running wild, but the fact that he didn’t accept donations and only streamed when he felt like it made him an outrageous, self-centered VTuber.
he considered himself primarily a clipper, and the character he created was merely for participating in broadcasts.
Of course, that was just his own interpretation. he had absolutely no intention of belittling the concepts of other VTubers.
To him, VTubing was like walking a grueling warrior’s path, despite not having actual blood coursing through his veins.
Managing countless viewers, creating content every single day, and speaking alone in front of the screen! Think about it; it’s not an easy task at all. Being a streamer is hard enough, but a VTuber’s circumstances are even more challenging.
In that sense, as a clipper, he helped promote talented VTubers unknown to the masses. One could say that being a clipper was his profession, and he was a young person who diligently saved money in real life, living out his idealistic dreams while spending his days watching streams.
He laid in bed with an ASMR video of a VTuber he watched until she fell asleep, set alarms to wake him up for unexpected or unarchived streams, and checked his channel with over 2,000 videos, none of which were monetized, before closing his eyes.
And when he woke up in bed, the clipper—
he realized that he had become the very VTuber he had created.
“Wow, I’m screwed. Or maybe I’ve screwed myself…?”
Standing at 243 cm tall, weighing 211 kg.
This year, the Fox God turned 1,000 years old.
he had heard rumours of a famous clippers turning into a VTuber someday, but never expected it to happen like this.
