Chapter 44
“Hey! You little brat! Are you going to keep calling me ‘auntie’?!”
“Pfft. I’m no brat! My blood’s dried already, wanna touch and check?”
Aiorin, using a nagging skill she had perfected during her adventuring days, was met with Solinor childishly leaning in, presenting the top of his head in a playful rebuttal.
It was ironic.
The very words Solinor was using were ones Aiorin had taught him long ago, and now he was using them against her.
The scene was unexpectedly touching—the student employing the same tactics on his master.
On the other hand, Solinor, who had once run away from home as a rebellious brat, was now mirroring Aiorin’s attitude back in her younger days.
Truly a perfect match. Their behavior was so alike it was uncanny.
“Youuuuuu!”
“Auntiiiiiiiie!”
The argument had now devolved into a shouting match with no logic or reason.
Thankfully, the soundproofing barrier created by the spirits held strong, or else the maids would have burst in, alarmed by the commotion.
“Hand over my husband right noooooow!”
“Why would your husband be hereeee?!”
Aiorin, red-faced with frustration, finally blurted out her actual objective.
However, thanks to her disguise, she appeared to Solinor as nothing more than a deranged woman.
‘Wait a second… isn’t this woman’s husband Eldric?’
In the midst of their childish tug-of-war, Solinor suddenly had a realization.
‘But why does she keep talking about me and then randomly mention Eldric?’
However, he quickly dismissed it.
How could anyone understand the mind of a crazy woman? It was a waste of time to try.
“Your husband is in the royal palace, by the way.”
Of course, the king would naturally be in the royal palace.
“What? Now you’re finally telling me? Hmph.”
“But how do you not know that, auntie? You’re the one who married him.”
“That’s because he’s shamelessly sneaking around with some mistress and avoiding me!”
By the time Aiorin had confirmed earlier that Muriela was pure, the misunderstanding about infidelity should have been cleared.
However, Aiorin’s rationality had long since flown out the window.
After enduring repeated “auntie” attacks, even her basic reasoning skills had been drained.
Meanwhile, Solinor’s thoughts wandered.
‘Wow, she’s so self-centered. Eldric might have many wives, but they’re all seniors compared to her. If anything, she’s the one committing adultery since she just got married!’
Of course, he didn’t dare say this out loud.
Judging by her mood, she seemed ready to storm off after learning her husband’s whereabouts.
Solinor didn’t want to provoke her and risk another scene.
As Aiorin climbed out of the open window, she left him with a final warning.
“If my husband’s not there, you better watch out! I’ll be back, so stay put!”
“Do whatever you want, auntie.”
Though she flinched at his parting remark, Aiorin was too focused on finding Solinor to waste time retaliating.
Without another word, she leapt out.
“Goodbye, auntiiiiiiiieeeee!”
Solinor hollered with a mocking tone, sticking out her tongue as she vanished.
Unfortunately, neither of them realized the soundproofing barrier ended the moment Aiorin left.
They were about to face the consequences of their ignorance.
“Princess! What happened?!”
“What is going on, Your Highness?!”
The two maids burst in, clearly startled.
Just as Zephyr, who had momentarily left under Aiorin’s imposing command, returned, Muriela was waving her arms at him with relief.
What they saw instead was the disheveled Muriela, sweat dripping from her hair after wrestling with Aiorin.
She was standing dangerously close to the window, which had once again lost its safety locks.
Startled by the maids, Muriela spun around. The only excuse she could muster in her flustered state was:
“Um… flying kick… one hundred times…”
“Princessssss!”
‘This is all that auntie’s fault!’
Cursing the innocent Sixth Queen in her heart, Solinor endured the wave of scolding that soon followed.

Meanwhile, in Silbrenoa, even in a land notorious for its corrupt bureaucrats, the sudden disappearance of the newlywed queen was a serious matter.
The entire palace staff scoured every corner of the royal grounds, even enlisting the help of lower-ranking officials to aid in the search.
Searching outside the palace was, of course, part of the operation.
The guards and knights, who had only just returned from arresting terrorists and conducting audience member bag inspections, were dismayed to find themselves immediately reassigned to another round of searches.
Before long, the Sixth Queen was found imprisoned in an abandoned building near the royal palace.
Her appearance was a mess.
And why was she in such a state?
The ever-oblivious Aiorin had only instructed the spirits to bring her food and water.
The spirits, lacking flexibility, did just that—no more, no less.
…Out of respect for the Sixth Queen’s dignity, her condition will not be described in detail.
By the time she was found, bathed, and dressed up properly, the king’s order to bring her before him had long since been issued.
Just as the bewildered queen reappeared in the royal court, Aiorin, who had just finished her confrontation with her granddaughter, arrived on the scene.
“Two Sixth Queens…?”
The maid assisting the queen fainted, her shock at seeing an impersonator colliding with the kidnapped queen’s collapse from exhaustion.
Eldric, wearing a confused expression, wasted no time issuing his command.
“Guards! Arrest this impersonator—no, this kidnapper—at once!”
The clatter of hurried footsteps echoed as the soldiers rushed in.
However, Aiorin, who had quickly grasped the situation, disappeared before they could lay a hand on her.
‘Darn it! I forgot I was still in disguise. And that brat dared to lie to her own grandmother. No matter that she’s my granddaughter—she’s going to get a stern lesson.’
Aiorin vowed to teach her granddaughter a lesson.
Although she had no intention of disrupting the reunion between her son and his sixth wife, she had already sniffed out the faint traces of Solinor.
There was only one place in the entire palace where the scent lingered, and it led her straight to Eldric.
The problem was that the palace had undergone such drastic changes that it was unrecognizable.
The location, the size, and even the architecture were entirely different from what she remembered.
As she flew toward her granddaughter’s room to deliver her vengeance, she encountered an unexpected scene.
Muriela was cowering, unable to lift her head, as two women in maid uniforms looked down at her with cold expressions.
Though they were dressed as maids, it was impossible to tell who the real princess was in this situation.
“I’m sorry! I’ll never do it again—please, just give me one more chance!”
Seeing her granddaughter half-prostrate and begging for forgiveness melted Aiorin’s anger away.
‘Poor child. A princess, yet so poorly treated. Then again, with a father like hers… What? A Sixth Queen? What is he doing, collecting women like he collects wine?’
To be fair to Solinor, his “collection” was far more modest than that of the average noble.
However, in the eyes of an elf like Aiorin, it was incomprehensible.
As she pondered, the two maids remained standing, arms crossed, glaring silently at Muriela.
‘Tsk, tsk. She must not have received any love from her parents. No wonder even the maids look down on her. Her bad attitude is starting to make sense.’
For the first time in her life, the mischievous and childlike Aiorin had a grandmotherly thought.
Truly a monumental development.
One of the two maids briefly left the room, returning moments later with a wooden plank.
Together, the two maids began constructing a makeshift barricade over the window.
Aiorin hastily moved out of sight.
Although she was invisible, standing right in front of someone hammering nails would still feel awkward.
“If this happens again, we’ll have no choice but to request the princess be moved to a room without windows.”
“Bianca, shouldn’t we make that request now? This is just too dangerous.”
“Phew… I agree with you, but look at the princess begging like that. What else can I do?”
“But…”
“Let’s give her one more chance. If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility.”
If the princess were to fall and die, how exactly would she take responsibility?
Florina wanted to argue but knew it was pointless.
Bianca’s resolve left no room for rebuttal.
Besides, pushing too hard would just make things more complicated.
Once the window was completely sealed, the two maids gave Muriela a final warning before leaving.
Solinor let out a sigh of relief.
“Phew… A room without windows would be unacceptable.”
No sunlight, no ventilation, and Zephyr would struggle to come and go.
Not to mention, what if Sylvius decided to visit someday?
‘I’ll have to come up with a way to sneak in and out of the window without removing the safety locks—’
Crack.
Muriela’s thoughts were abruptly shattered by the sound of wood breaking.
